Mnesithea laevis adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan menahun dari famili Poaceae (suku rumput-rumputan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari kawasan Asia tropis dan subtropis hingga Pasifik barat laut. Nama ilmiah Mnesithea laevis pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Anders Johan Retzius pada tahun 1829.
