Monothecium glandulosum merupakan tumbuhan perdu kecil dari famili Acanthaceae (suku jeruju-jerujuan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Rep. Afrikan Tengah hingga Eritrea dan Tanzania utara. Nama ilmiah Monothecium glandulosum pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Christian Ferdinand Friedrich Hochstetter pada tahun 1843.
