Morinda tomentosa merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk pohon dari famili Rubiaceae (suku kopi-kopian). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari India hingga Indo-China. Nama ilmiah Morinda tomentosa pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Benjamin Heyne pada tahun 1819.
