Muhlenbergia californica merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Poaceae (suku rumput-rumputan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma gurun pasir atau sabana kering di wilayah California selatan. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan california muhly. Nama ilmiah Muhlenbergia californica pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis George Vasey pada tahun 1886.
