Muhlenbergia schreberi merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Poaceae (suku rumput-rumputan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Kanada tenggara, Meksiko, Brazil selatan, hingga Argentina bagian utara. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan nimblewill. Nama ilmiah Muhlenbergia schreberi pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Johann Friedrich Gmelin pada tahun 1791.
