Mussaenda procera merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Rubiaceae (suku kopi-kopian). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah di wilayah Papua. Nama ilmiah Mussaenda procera diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Frederick Manson Bailey pada tahun 1900.
