Narthecium americanum adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan menahun dari famili Nartheciaceae. Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan membentuk rimpang atau stolon. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari New Jersey, Delaware, hingga South Carolina (Dorcester County). Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan yellow asphodel. Nama ilmiah Narthecium americanum pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Charles Henry Bellenden Ker pada tahun 1812.
