Nectandra matthewsii merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk pohon dari famili Lauraceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Kolombia selatan hingga Peru. Nama ilmiah Nectandra matthewsii diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Carl Daniel Friedrich Meissner pada tahun 1864.
