Nectandra membranacea merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk pohon dari famili Lauraceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Meksiko hingga kawasan tropis Amerika. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan sweetwood. Nama ilmiah Nectandra membranacea diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Olof Peter Swartz pada tahun 1860.
