Nicolasia nitens merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Sudan hingga Afrika Selatan. Nama ilmiah Nicolasia nitens diperkenalkan oleh Karl August Otto Hoffmann pada tahun 1971.
