Nigella icarica merupakan tumbuhan semusim dari famili Ranunculaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis di wilayah Kepulauan Aegea timur. Nama ilmiah Nigella icarica pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Arne Strid pada tahun 1970.
