Ocotea leucoxylon merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk pohon dari famili Lauraceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Meksiko tengah dan selatan hingga kawasan tropis Amerika. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan loblolly sweetwood. Nama ilmiah Ocotea leucoxylon pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Olof Peter Swartz pada tahun 1886.
