Oenothera brachycarpa merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Onagraceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma gurun pasir atau sabana kering dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Arizona tenggara hingga Texas barat dan Meksiko utara. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan shortfruit evening primrose. Nama ilmiah Oenothera brachycarpa pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Asa Gray pada tahun 1852.
