Oenothera grandiflora merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Onagraceae yang memiliki siklus hidup dua musim (biennial). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang di wilayah Amerika Serikat bagian tenggara. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan largeflower evening primrose. Nama ilmiah Oenothera grandiflora pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Charles Louis L'Héritier de Brutelle pada tahun 1789.
