Oenothera laciniata merupakan tumbuhan semusim dari famili Onagraceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Amerika Serikat bagian tengah dan timur hingga Guatemala. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan cutleaf evening primrose. Nama ilmiah Oenothera laciniata pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis John Hill pada tahun 1768.
