Oncoba spinosa merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu atau pohon dari famili Salicaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering di kawasan tropis Afrika dan Afrika Selatan, Jazirah Arab barat daya. Nama ilmiah Oncoba spinosa pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Peter Forsskål pada tahun 1775.
