Onobrychis grandis merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Fabaceae (suku polong-polongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Asia tengah hingga Afghanistan. Nama ilmiah Onobrychis grandis diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Vladimir Ippolitovich Lipsky pada tahun 1900.
