Ononis cephalotes merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Fabaceae (suku polong-polongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis di wilayah Spanyol tenggara Maroko. Nama ilmiah Ononis cephalotes pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Pierre Edmond Boissier pada tahun 1838.
