Ophrestia torrei merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Fabaceae (suku polong-polongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Angola hingga Zambia. Nama ilmiah Ophrestia torrei pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Bernard Verdcourt pada tahun 1970.
