Oreopanax catalpifolius merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk pohon dari famili Araliaceae (suku mangkok-mangkokan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Kolombia hingga Venezuela. Nama ilmiah Oreopanax catalpifolius pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Carl Ludwig von Willdenow pada tahun 1854.
