Oryza schlechteri merupakan tumbuhan semusim dari famili Poaceae (suku rumput-rumputan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah di wilayah Papua. Nama ilmiah Oryza schlechteri diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Robert Knud Friedrich Pilger pada tahun 1914.
