Osmorhiza purpurea adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan menahun dari famili Apiaceae (suku adas-adasan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Alaska hingga California utara. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan purple sweetroot. Nama ilmiah Osmorhiza purpurea diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama John Merle Coulter pada tahun 1906.
