Osteospermum muricatum merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari Afrika Selatan dan kawasan tropis Afrika bagian selatan, Yaman. Nama ilmiah Osteospermum muricatum pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Ernst Heinrich Friedrich Meyer pada tahun 1838.
