Otopappus mexicanus merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari Meksiko (Michoacán, Guerrero, Oaxaca). Nama ilmiah Otopappus mexicanus diperkenalkan oleh Jerzy Rzedowski pada tahun 1979.
