Ovieda brachypus merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Lamiaceae (suku nilam-nilaman). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah di wilayah Kuba. Nama ilmiah Ovieda brachypus pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Ignatz Urban pada tahun 2016.
