Oxalis chamaecrista merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Oxalidaceae (suku belimbing-belimbingan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering di wilayah Madagaskar. Nama ilmiah Oxalis chamaecrista pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Henri Ernest Baillon pada tahun 1886.
