Oxalis frutescens merupakan tumbuhan perdu atau perdu kecil dari famili Oxalidaceae (suku belimbing-belimbingan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Meksiko, El Salvador, Lesser Antilles, hingga kawasan tropis Amerika selatan. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan shrubby woodsorrel. Nama ilmiah Oxalis frutescens pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Carolus Linnaeus dalam Species Plantarum tahun 1753.
