Oxalis macrocarpa merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Oxalidaceae (suku belimbing-belimbingan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis di wilayah Meksiko (Jalisco, Colima). Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan sorrel. Nama ilmiah Oxalis macrocarpa pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis John Kunkel Small pada tahun 1919.
