Oxalis violacea adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan dari famili Oxalidaceae (suku belimbing-belimbingan). Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan membentuk akar rimpang. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Amerika Serikat bagian tengah dan timur hingga Meksiko utara. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan violet woodsorrel. Nama ilmiah Oxalis violacea diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Carolus Linnaeus pada tahun 1753.
