Oxytropis sulphurea merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Fabaceae (suku polong-polongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim dingin (subalpin atau subarktik) dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Altay, Mongolia, Asia tengah, hingga Himalaya timur. Nama ilmiah Oxytropis sulphurea pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Friedrich Ernst Ludwig von Fischer pada tahun 1831.
