Paepalanthus cordatus adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan menahun dari famili Eriocaulaceae yang memiliki siklus reproduktif hanya sekali seumur hidupnya (monokarpip). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering di wilayah Brazil (Goiás timur laut). Nama ilmiah Paepalanthus cordatus pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Wilhelm Otto Eugen Ruhland pada tahun 1903.
