Paepalanthus major adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan perdu kecil dari famili Eriocaulaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Venezuela selatan (Sierra de la Neblina) hingga Brazil (Serra da Neblina). Nama ilmiah Paepalanthus major pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Harold Norman Moldenke pada tahun 1991.
