Paepalanthus phaeocephalus merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Eriocaulaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering di wilayah Brazil barat-tengah. Nama ilmiah Paepalanthus phaeocephalus diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Wilhelm Otto Eugen Ruhland pada tahun 1903.
