Panicum capillare adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan semusim atau menahun dari famili Poaceae (suku rumput-rumputan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Kanada, Meksiko timur laut, hingga Karibia. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan witchgrass. Nama ilmiah Panicum capillare diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Carolus Linnaeus pada tahun 1753.
