Panicum lineale merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Poaceae (suku rumput-rumputan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering di wilayah Kepulauan Hawaii. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan kauai panicgrass. Nama ilmiah Panicum lineale diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Harold St. John pada tahun 1987.
