Panicum mitchellii merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Poaceae (suku rumput-rumputan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering di wilayah Queensland utara dan timur. Nama ilmiah Panicum mitchellii diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama George Bentham pada tahun 1878.
