Panicum pearsonii merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Poaceae (suku rumput-rumputan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma gurun pasir atau sabana kering di wilayah Namibia. Nama ilmiah Panicum pearsonii diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Frank Bolus pada tahun 1915.
