Panicum sublaeve merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Poaceae (suku rumput-rumputan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Meksiko selatan, Amerika tengah, hingga Venezuela. Nama ilmiah Panicum sublaeve diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Jason Richard Swallen pada tahun 1950.
