Paracaryum platycalyx merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Boraginaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang. Nama ilmiah Paracaryum platycalyx diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Harald Udo von Riedl pada tahun 1963.
