Pohon lilin merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk pohon dari famili Bignoniaceae. Tumbuhan yang dikenal dengan nama ilmiah Parmentiera cereifera ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah di wilayah Panama. Nama ilmiah Parmentiera cereifera pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Berthold Carl Seemann pada tahun 1851.
