Parochetus africanus merupakan tumbuhan perdu kecil dari famili Fabaceae (suku polong-polongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Ethiopia hingga kawasan tropis Afrika bagian selatan. Nama ilmiah Parochetus africanus pertama kali dipublikasikan pada tahun 1991.
