Paspalum rupestre merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Poaceae (suku rumput-rumputan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Kuba hingga Puerto Rico. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan rock paspalum. Nama ilmiah Paspalum rupestre diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Carl Bernhard von Trinius pada tahun 1836.
