Paspalum scandens merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Poaceae (suku rumput-rumputan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah di wilayah Guianas. Nama ilmiah Paspalum scandens pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Thomas Gaskell Tutin pada tahun 1934.
