Rambusa merupakan tumbuhan semusim atau dwimusim dari famili Passifloraceae. Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan tumbuh memanjat. Tumbuhan yang dikenal dengan nama ilmiah Passiflora foetida ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering di kawasan tropis dan subtropis Amerika . Di Indonesia rambusa memiliki beberapa nama, antara lain ada yang menyebutnya ceplukan blungsun, nyomlang (Jawa), rajutan, atau permot (Sunda). Nama ilmiah Passiflora foetida pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Carolus Linnaeus dalam Species Plantarum tahun 1753.
