Pediomelum canescens merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Fabaceae (suku polong-polongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang di wilayah Amerika Serikat bagian tenggara. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan buckroot. Nama ilmiah Pediomelum canescens pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis André Michaux pada tahun 1919.
