Pediomelum hypogaeum var. scaposum merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Fabaceae (suku polong-polongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis di wilayah Texas. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan subterranean indian breadroot. Nama ilmiah Pediomelum hypogaeum var. scaposum pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Asa Gray pada tahun 1987.
