Penstemon azureus merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Plantaginaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Oregon barat daya hingga California. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan azure penstemon. Nama ilmiah Penstemon azureus pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis George Bentham pada tahun 1849.
