Pentaclethra macrophylla merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk pohon dari famili Fabaceae (suku polong-polongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari kawasan tropis Afrika bagian barat hingga Angola. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan oilbean tree. Nama ilmiah Pentaclethra macrophylla pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis George Bentham pada tahun 1841.
