Pentameris aspera merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Poaceae (suku rumput-rumputan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis di wilayah Provinsi Cape. Nama ilmiah Pentameris aspera pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Carl Peter Thunberg pada tahun 2010.
