Pentapetes phoenicea adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan semusim dari famili Malvaceae (suku kapas-kapasan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering di kawasan Asia tropis dan subtropis. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan flor impia. Nama ilmiah Pentapetes phoenicea pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Carolus Linnaeus dalam Species Plantarum tahun 1753.
